Otesha is a Swahili name which means to cause a dream. Our purpose is to educate and enrich communities through cultural arts.


The Otesha Creative Arts Ensemble has been an icon in the Winston-Salem community for over 46 years. Dedicated to promoting culture arts throughout Winston-Salem and other communities in the triad via African Drum and Dance.
Otesha has performed at various venues throughout the Winston-Salem community such as Kwanzaa, Dr. Martin Luther King celebrations, Black History month, Juneteenth, as well as cultural events at churches, schools, the Enterprise Center, and the National Black Theater Festival. We have taught community dance classes at QEA (Quality Education Academy and Delta Fine Arts Center)
